sometimes it is possible to recover easely your files... depends on the defect of the drive..
some years ago i had a maxtor hdd which was damaged.. it made crazy noise and didn't start while booting the machine.. but after some restarts of the pc becaude of my panic the drive starts for the last time and i was able to transfer ALL of my files to another drive..

some other defects could be because of an cable oder controller failure... don't give up..

No i havent. i will borrow a friends SATA disc and see if the computer wants to boot with that one. if not, then its probobly the motherboard or the cables. But i doubt its that easy. Files got corrupt and it started it restarted it self randomly till one time when it couldn't find windows, or rather teh entire disc.

With some luck its only a cable, i'm really hoping for that.
