Generally it says the more you have studied and the more you know, the more comfortable and better paid will your job be. So if you are not an absolute school/college-hater, I'd say you should go to college again :) It wont be for nothing, in every case~

You want these good jobs, and they require BA's. They're offering you a chance at that where it's mostly paid for. Seems pretty self explanatory. You might as well at least try for it. You have nothing to lose by trying for this.

I have become convinced that a BA degree is little more than proof to employers that you'll eat shit for four years, and pay for the privilege... therefore, when you go for a job, you'll be properly docile and controllable. I realize that this view is horribly cynical, but as proof, I offer the fact that I got $2/hr more, for doing the identical job, than someone who had only a high school diploma. My degree was not helpful in any way toward the job (it was primarily data entry), and clearly, the other guy did at least as well as I did. The degree gave me $12/hr rather than $10/hr, and that was the only difference between us. (Our work histories were very similar.)

In more technical areas such as web design, the education is clearly more valuable and more directly applied. My only hesitation has already been answered: Someone else is paying for it. Whatever you do, avoid going into debt with student loans; they cannot be eliminated by bankruptcy, and even if you're starving, they can garnish up to 15% of your wages, even if it causes you to lose your home/house/apartment and even your job.

Be prepared to be one of thousands when you graduate; the market is, in many ways, glutted. (You can thank our 1% friends for that.) What will get you hired is talent that sets you apart from and above the crowd. I know you have talent, my good wolf; be prepared to capitalize on it in every way that you can. Excel in what you most love, shine brighter and stronger, right from your big, loving, furry heart... and you will win. This is true of whatever you do. Whatever choice you make, I will place my bets on your success. You will win. Carpe Diem!

If I can do anything to help, I will. I majored in literature and rhetoric, as well as psychology (a double major), with a minor in philosophy. It prepared me for no known job on the planet, save for getting a doctorate and teaching, but I've become something of a wise old woof after all this time. Glad to help you get though basic English courses and so forth. I get busy and tired, and I'm not always available a much as I'd like to be... but I'll do my best.

Hi! Since you said you're going to major in web development, and the financial package would pay for practically everything, I would say go for it. But be sure to discuss more with the career and academic counselors to see whether BA or BS would be the appropriate goal (BS requires a few more classes than BA, but does give you a bit more edge. I myself would go for a BS).

Oh, I forgot to add that Gallaudet also does require a certain level of English proficiency, but it also does offer remedial courses on English. Again, do a bit of homework on what you need to do in order to continue.
