Ubisoft and Nintendos presentations were far better than all the others.
Nintendo Land seems like it will be the pack-in game with the Wii U just like Wii sports was with the Wii.
I'm genuinely excited to see what gets done with the Wii U over the other consoles because they are actually doing something different.
other than just going "yup, same shit we've had since the PS1, just higher res" which in all honesty is the equivalent of a slightly outdated PC with a USB controller (and I already have that).
the other consoles might do something different, we still know absolutely nothing about them
but from the companies track records, I doubt it's gonna happen.
I have but one problem with the WII U. That fancy controller with the screen on it. How long till kids will break the screen. What do kids do when they get angry at a game? Throw the controller! Also kids love to leave stuff lying around. someone will step on it, kids also like to bounce around on sofas, and oops, kid sat on the controller. Nintendo has always been geared towards kids. I call this an EPIC FAIL!
The way I'm looking at it: it's further giving parents incentive to teach their kids to not be such little shits with their toys/belongings. If it's gonna cost $100+ to replace a controller, you can be damn sure mommy and daddy are going to try to keep little Timmy from busting it. XD
For me, I'd get it no matter... why? Nintendo is making the games for it and well, when it comes to there first party stuff there's little that is close for games that are just fun.
Also I tend to get all the major hardware no matter at some point.
As for what I had seen out of the show, I have my doubts I'll be getting the system right off the bat like I've done with every one up to now. Pipkin 3 and Mario U alone are not enough to get me to buy off the bat, but it I don't think it'll be long before I decide to go all in eventually.
