ZombiU was pretty much the only decent thing in the Nintendo Conference line-up, IMO. Was so looking forward to hear anything about StarFox, F-Zero, or Metroid. But no, instead...3 friggin Mario games -_-
The only problem I'm having with 'the last of us' is that it's so incredibly linear.
which is why ZombiU was higher on the list, finally a zombie apocalypse game that has the apocalypse part.
and of course I'm eager to get to play around in AC3
i have no problem with the linearity. I'm personally sick of all the open world gameplay that everyone demands out of every game. Linearity exists to tell a story and naughty dog is obviously a group that accells at telling stories, so linearity is an acceptable way to build their game imo
it still looks like a good game, just saying why it isn't higher on my list.
and honestly, I'm not just up for open world just for the hell of it
it's just that we've never had an actual open dystopian world.
I'd love to see an open world zombie (as tired as zombies are, they still need to be done right) game
you actually run around, explore, gather what little items you can get, build up a little defensable location yourself.
and zombiu seems to me like the closest we're getting to that currently.
yah, zombiu looks super killer, the definite ap to have on the WiiU, but that's just what's holding it back for me. I really am impressed, it made it on my top 5 and I agree with everything you said, but I just don't see myself getting a WiiU at launch or in the launch window (at this time).
It's actually not as linear as it seems. The vast majority of actions in the demo that people are pointing out as scripted were actually pure ai reactions. The marauder coming after you when he realizes your gun is empty, Ellie(?) jumping on the one guy's back with a knife, even the encounter itself; all of that is the game responding to your decisions and actions. It'd be number one on my list if I weren't sick of dystopian zombielands.
I actually meant open as in explorable, you're not shoehorned into going into a specific building.
also, in this interview http://www.gametrailers.com/video/e.....last-of/731335
they sorta admit it half is half isn't in that you're not doing throwing each one of those punches
you press the attack button then the game decides which animation series it wants to go through.
Watch Dogs is one of the most incredible things I've seen done in a while. There's so much detail in everything. Beyond looks great too, as well as Last of Us.
Why is everyone saying Watch Dogs is #1 when in truth after you peel back layers its just another GTA game.
AC3, HALO 4 and Black Ops 2 are just some of the games I'll be getting but has anyone seen Transformers Fall of Cybertron at E3 no and you want to know why Because the idiots at E3 thought it doesn't need to be shown.
Look for the Trailer to Transformers Fall of cybertron and you'll see the epicness of the Dinobots in action
I agree with the watch dogs thing, it is GTA with a different weapon set but it is a new IP with what seems like a unique base idea for the games story (for a AAA game anyway)
as for the transformers, watch gameplay footage, it's the exact same as the transformers game from a couple of years ago.
the trailers are beautiful
it's those complex layers on top of a good idea that make a good game nowadays though. You can't have original ideas anymore, it's all been done, and what hasn't been done is nye too complicated to make a decent game.
Halo 4 is just another shooter, Black ops 2 is just another shooter, but it's the unique elements about those games that makes you love them.
and yes, I have actually looked at fall of cybertron. aesthetically it looks good from that highly CGI cutscene, but it will play just like the transformers games that were lackluster and unimpressive of yesteryear.
DC3 can add so many features, it's amazing. So much to dancing, you know?
RB4 will probably be the perfect of "Innovate, perfect" motto that they have. As well you can go it the way of a sim/RPG-like band game and many other possibilities :3 Or open a new way to play, like Blitz!
Resident Evil 6 was the only thing I saw that looked really good, but I'm weird, and capcom has let me down so many times in the last few years I dunno if I should even be excited for that. :(
Not much into Halo or Black-Ops, but Last of Us, and Watch Dogs (and possibly AC3) are the only things that even somewhat sparked any interest for me. D: This year seems rather lackluster to me thus far.
their conference was a total flop.

And lets not forget that in September we also are getting Borderlands 2

Well I guess the cat is out of the bag we hear him say it during game play I think not sure but fuck i wasn't meant to say anything about that
... lol :3
Wanted to see more of DC3 though. I am a big fan of that and Rock Band :3

It's dev'd my Ubisoft Montreal, they made Deus Ex 3 which really wasn't that great.
Only hope I have is that Square isn't publishing it this time.
I seriously hope Square doesn't get their hands on the game. Jesus will weep otherwise :(
... half life 3 SHUTUP ITS COMING >3>
It was pretty refreshing to read good previews for stuff today rather than the over-hyped crap I've read so far. =/ You did a great job! :D
