Madagascar 3 and Prometheus
I saw two movies this afternoon. Both were good.
Madagascar 3 is a fitting possible ending to the series, though I didn't feel it declared itself the outright conclusion. I don't mind. It combined the possibly deeper story of the first one with the profuse amount of humor I found in the second very well. I very much enjoyed the circus performances in London and NYC, and these are one of the reasons this is one of the only movies I kind of wished I had opted to see in 3D. I won't give spoilers, but if you liked the first two you'll almost definitely enjoy this. Oh, and there a second and couple in the group now, although it involves someone outside the original four. I don't count Julian and the circus bear, as neither is technically a main character. The animation was good in my opinion, and the effects were excellent. I'd happily see a real life circus owned by the King of Versailles.
Prometheus was very adventurous. The landscape and music in the beginning made my hands itch for my conroller and a few more hours with and expansive adventure like Skyrim. The movie had some horror elements, but I didn't find it quite as scary the trailers make it out to be. More of a mystery dripping with irony (as the audience learns quite a few things before several of the characters do), and hints of a possible sequel centered on the humanities creators and potential destroyers. I enjoyed both movies pretty much equally. The first was funny and kind of uplifting. The second delved into the biggest unanswered questions of all time.
