London Fur Meet!
So, today I attended the London Fur Meet.
I actually haven’t been to any such meets in years, they’re not normally my sort of thing, and I’ve only ever been to a few in the past. But when I got up this morning, with nothing really to do today, I just thought ‘to hell with it’, and decided to give the meet a try. It was very last minute and spur of the moment.
A big part of the reason I decided to go was because I knew that a couple of friends would be there and I thought it’d be nice to meet them in real life. I eventually found them and they were very warm and friendly, and made me feel very welcome, something I didn’t often feel at previous meets I’ve been to. So, a big thank you to
regdeh and
foxconvoy! Thanks guys, it was great to meet you!
A pleasant surprise was getting to meet
talmak, who was in London, visiting from Canada. I think he was just as surprised to meet me there! He was a very nice guy, and it was a real pleasrue to get to meet him. He actually had with him a fantastic snowy owl fursuit head, complete with working beak, which was simply amazing.
I tagged along on the fursuit walk, something I’d never done before. It was a little tiring, being quite a long walk, but hey, a bit of exercise never hurt anyone. It was cool seeing the fursuiters out and about, I took some photos, a selection of which I’ll be uploading later (a lot of them just weren’t very good). It was fun seeing the smiling reactions of the public to the suiters, especially the little kids. There were some very cute antics that raised a smile.
After the walk, there was much relaxing, interupted at one point by the unexpected spectacle of a horde of naked people on bikes. It was the London Naked Bike Ride (and yes, that’s apparently an actual event!), whose route went right past the meet venue. It was a bizarre and unexpected interlude.
All too soon, it was time to call it a day and head home, but it was a good day. I got to meet some friends and have some fun and got plenty of hugs (been a long time since I last had RL hugs!). Didn’t get as much chance to talk to some people as I might have liked, but there’ll always be other times. All in all, it was easily the best fur meet I’ve been to, and I went home feeling very good.

Hope the rest of your week is equally as positive.
naked peoples on bikes? oooh myyyy... B3 hehehehe
Cool you went though, I might have gone if I knew you where going, did any of them know you from your Fur name/fursona ?
I think that was the best meet i had been to. Great weather, debuted my bird suit there, and great company! With old friends and made new ones! Was great to meet Talmak for the first time too. The more birds the merrier!
Ha ha! Oh that was so funny when those cyclists went past! Hee hee! That really was the cherry on top of the cake...hee hee.
Was great to see ya there. And glad you enjoyed your time there. (Wing hugs)
