Panthers and Doom3

In the past, I have said that I no longer play Doom3 at night. Well, theres a reason for that.
First of all, let me explain something about my living area. I currently live in a very underfunded county where there isn't a Sharif patrol. I live outside the city limits. Recently the Sharif said, "We cannot afford our current patrols for the next cycle. Therefore we are reducing our patrols by half and closing our office and closing the city juvenile offenders detention and jail facilities. If you have the ability, we recommend arming yourself for personal and property protection."
With that in mind, I sleep within arms reach of a pistol and a 32inch hunting knife (yes thats what the box was labeled).
In Doom3, in the third or fourth level right at the beginning there are 10gal fuel containers that slowly slide out and fall to the ground all over the reception area. Throughout the level you hear the bottles being kicked around and falling all over the place. Eventually one offalling buckets is because something is jumping out at you and trying to shread your face. Yeah... after a while, you start to use that sound of the bottle dropping to the floor as a trigger to turn and shoot.
Well one night after playing Doom3 for four hours or so. I creeped myself out enough. So I went in to take a shower. I emptied a bottle of shampoo and sat it on the edge of the tub instead of throwing it into the trashcan then went to bed. After about an hour of sleeping I hear that 5gal bottle sound amid my light sleep. I literally throw off my bedding like I was casting a fishing net, drew the 32inch hunting knife like a ninja out of its scabbard, and grab my pistol from the drawer like Jason Statham. Holding my breath I'm staring into the dark bathroom and holding my breath and dripping in a cold sweat. When i finally realized what the sound was (that empty shampoo bottle), i noticed I had the trigger pulled about half way back (it's a keltec, huge trigger pull distance) and had a four foot slash mark in my wall where the knife had hit the wall in my draw. (FYI, I shoot left handed if I have a sword. Go figure...).
This is the reason why I do not play Doom3 at night any more.

I think I've gone through something similar to that, but it didn't involve a gun.
But good reason not to play it at night anymore :P
