A Year In The Fandom

Today a year ago, I joined the fandom. Ohhh man, so much has happened in the year that it doesn't even make sense. It's all a blur that seemed like it happened last month. Let's see if I remember some of it...
June 2011
• Joined the furry fandom
• Learned to draw better, and digital art with Photoshop
• Created a fursona
• Helped Oreo solve a computer problem :B
July 2011
• Started video editing
• Joined Fur Affinity
• Produced a highlight video of my brother's lacrosse team, from inspiration of con videos by Oreo
• Edited tons of videos and drew more in the summer
August 2011
• Met a few people into tech, fursuiters, artists, musicians and actual programmers
• Talked to a few furries about software, and also learned what it's really like in the fandom from them
• Watched countless videos from almost ever furry con in the world on YouTube
• Drew commissioned art for the first time
September 2011
• Talked to more furry programmers and productivity actually went way up
• Explained what furries were to a close friend one night on IM
October 2011
• Tried looking for a fursuit tail to wear for Halloween but didn't have enough money
• Learned more about the Fur Fright convention online
November 2011
• Discovered how the furry fandom saved 2 people from suicide :o
• Decided that a fursuit is the second thing to save for after a custom PC
December 2011
• Got husky-looking slippers for Christmas :3
• Had the first Christmas on FA with so many Christmas-themed submissions
January2012
• Took a break off FA for mid-term exams
• Watched a few videos about furry New Year's celebrations and wanted to do something like that next year
February 2012
• Uncovered a hidden talent I didn't even know I had - video editing
• Reviewed cons that were happening around my area and wished I could go to a BIG one so much (e.g. Anthrocon, FWA, MFF)
March 2012
• Went to my first small furry convention with
F0_ES which was Vancoufur 2012
• Met people in reality at the con who I met online originally in September
• First time where people who weren't watchers commented on my submissions
• Drew gift art for the first time and saw how much
MontyC appreciated it
April 2012
• First time having an April Fool's Day in the fandom (haha the journals were so lame)
• Got spammed with birthday comments and shouts
May 2012
• Got fan notes which made me feel really good
• Drafted a plan to attend Anthrocon a few years later
• Started DJ mixing and listened to Recca and Comet on Livestream
June 2012
• Figured out I wasn't absolutely horrible at mixing, and created a a few myself
• Watched
TaniDaReal and 
Nachtfuchs get married from 
Coyote_Snack's media coverage ;P
• Left FA a bit for final exams
That's all I can think if now. I know there's way more that happened in the year but I'm not going to bother writing it all down or else people won't read it. ;P
14 year old kids making Linux distros, art I mistook as photographs, videos I thought were movies, and all the fantastic talent here is spectacular.
I can't believe that furries helped in so many ways and brought so much light into my life. It's the best decision I made to join it. It made me discover hidden talents, meet really nice new people worldwide, have fun and just be myself. I hope the next few years are just as great as this one, especially during those summer nights.~ Everybody stay awesome, AND IT'S SUMMER!!! :D :D :D
