I was heading out to the bus last night to head to work when I seen something thrashing about in the middle fo the road in my apartment's parking lot. I got closer and found it was a white winged dove flapping about. I got closer and couldn't see anything wrong with it's wings. I stepped behind it and knelt down to scoop it up with it;s wings gently pinned down so it couldn't hurt itself any further, the bird just held still while I reached down and picked it up out of the street. It seemed to calm down, as if it knew it was safe in my hands and even held onto one of my fingers with it's foot. I couldn't miss my bus so I did all I could for it and hid it in the bushes so no cats or people would get at it (Not very effective against cats but I had nothing else) and I went on my way. As I stood up to step away, it just looked up at me as if to ask where I was going. I know there is little to no chance that the bird will still be there, but I just wouldn't feel right if I did not check on it this morning.
