It's one thing to express your support for the troops through your words, but what about those who want to express it through actions?
There are many great organizations that help both active servicemen and veterans alike.
But be cautious; many organizations, namely veteran-based organizations, are either scams or very misleading and badly run.
How can you be sure you are donating or helping out a reputable organization?

Just as a note dear, the term "soldier" applies only to those serving in the army. If you want a general term to describe everyone serving in the armed forces, you should use the term "servicemen." If you want to be EXTRA PC, you can say "service men and women" although at this point, I find it easier just to say "military"

No biggie! Most don't honestly know that soldier isn't a general term for all in the military! In fact, when I first started dating my fiance, I got scolded for that and quickly learned not to call him a soldier because he is an airman

I thought about pointing it out on the main page. Us Marines get especially butt hurt when people call us soldiers.
