I think we need to be aware of this horrific act. It really does make me mad when people like this ruin the fandom for others. I have to deal with people flinging stereotypes at me all the time, and just when people are beggining to trust us, crap like this happens.

Lets all work hard to educate people around us. Don't hide it! If people are curious, communicate calmly and clearly who we are, an art fandom. Whether it be 2D drawn art, 3D sculptures or costumes, or acting while in costume, all of it has brought us together and formed bonds that we would not have expected to be formed. I for one have met so many wonderful people because of the commonalities we share. This fandom means a lot to me, and it would do the world good to educate them of the positives that clearly trump over the negatives of the fandom.
