I'll admit I did go very cranky at the video. Partly because I was often made fun on myself as a kid(and wouldn't know how I would have fared without my brig brother aggressively taking my defense back then).

Then furthering my anger was how kids were showing such disrespect to a senior, while I'd always been raised myself to show respect to my seniors.

However, some of my faith in humanity was restored when I saw they already seem to have hit six times their goals already :)

And if the kids are treating an adult like this, how do you think they treat their fellow classmates?

Omg, that's so terrible. How can they be so callous? Why? This makes me so sick. I wish I could donate but unfortunately I'm not in a place to do so. I'll email the school instead. This is terrible, no one should do this to their elders. What happened to respecting one another? It's such a simple thing that would make the entire world a better place. A person should never be judged on what they look like or how much money they have, it's just so very sickening to see this. ;.;

I honestly hope the money is going directly to her, I'd love to see her reaction to the donations. That poor women, no one deserves treatment like that. That being said, for every horrible act there is one of good will. I was so happy to glance at the donations and see it past 30k. :)

I saw it on the news, and I have to say those punks you were bullying her should be ashamed of themselves. There's no reason to act that way towards someone you don't even know. People just baffle me sometimes.

The part that disgusts me is that she's the bus monitor, the person that's supposed to keep the kinds in line. And yet she can't do a thing against them doing that to her. When I went to school teachers could paddle students, yell in their faces, and take real disciplinary action. But now their hands are tied and the kids are almost feral.

Gen, I'm with you. I remember principal's using a paddle to discipline really unruly kids, but now you can't even look at them sideways, before some parent gets on the educator's case; same thing with monitor's like this poor woman.

In short..., THIS is the fault of parent's who don't parent!

* Their kid can do no wrong!

* Their kid is never a liar (though they probably disrespect their parents at home when things don't go their way).

* Never strong consequences for brats like this, and;

* The "You owe me this! & You owe me THAT!" social mentality.

Of course these same parent's expect the teacher's to raise their child, but heaven forbid they're allowed to discipline them.

Yes... I've run into that too. Imagine the conservative teacher's who strive for their student's to actually LEARN and parents who enable their kids to be slackers or out right fail (then they blame the teacher's). That too I've seen.

We need to return to what was done initially; More 1-Room schools!

Its not always the parents though, more often than not it is a lobby group, or even a union. Hell, the no zero policy itself is foxes in the hen house as it artificially inflates the schools average which makes them look better and receive more funding..

this honestly breaks my heart and makes me physically sick. it also makes me worry about our future. is this going to happen to us when we get older. seeing this makes me imagine as if the older woman is my grandmother and it just..I can't explain. stupid fucks.

I'm just thankful that Finally the media is making it uncool for people to bully others. Now if we can just reinforce it beyond highschool, this world might just be a better place.

Kids are sometimes horrible animals. They all pretty much start out as totally self-centered little bundles of need. It's how the parents raise them that largely determines if they ever get civilized. Of course, now that these horrible little monsters have gone and videotaped themselves being horrible little monsters to an adult, I can hope that this video will slam a clue-by-four, in the form of a very large lawsuit for damages against the kids and their parents, that might pierce the parent's invincible shield of 'My little darling woudl never do that!'

If I had money to spare, I'd send her some. I do have some hatred to spare, and I'd like the names and addresses of the kids in that video. they deserve the hatred returned to them manyfold.

I checked back up on this. They're raising enough money for the woman to retire instead of take a vacation and the school website is saying that they're taking "strong" disciplinary action against the students and they got the police department involved. Yay!
