Is it weird that after AC I keep finding drawings online of "new" characters who happen to look a lot like Athene?? Ugh. I suppose I can't stop anything like that either. :P
Imitation may sometimes be the sincerest form of flattery, but in the furry fandom sometimes it's just laziness.
I know it is probably "flattery" as you say, but I guess I'm just so attached to my character so it bothers me more than it should.
It's like the 'purple husky' event of several years ago... though I hope in your case it was more coincidence than malice.
At least I don't think anyone should have reason to do so!
And Ive had alot of people make lemurs that look like naynay Im whatever about it
We need to get... an owl photo. All owls. All the time.
For anthrocon next year Im going to organize a bird meet and try to get it on the schedule maybe all the owls will come to that

I saw so many owls at AC this year, all different designs but it was cool to see some at all - weird how cooincidences like that happen with species.
