well head guy of smash bros series is still around to direct the process so at the very least it'll be brawl improved

They have, true... But, well, how can I put this... Although Blizzard has worked on Strategy games in the past (ex. Starcraft), I'd be kinda concerned if Nintendo signed them on for the next Advance Wars game.

Bandai makes toys, NOT games. I have never seen a bandai game that was well-crafted.
Namco isn't that bad, but they haven't produced an original, quality game in a very long time.

I am a bit bitter though, so here's crossing fingers and hoping for the best.

I heard about this from maximillion. I honestly was shocked. I'm not sure how I feel about this, but I always felt that if the next Smash wasn't developed by HAL, I always hoped that ATARI might take it up. Or maybe Capcom...either way, no Smash will ever be perfect because Microsoft bought RareWare. No B and K, no Conker, no Jet Set Radio characters. It's really sad...:(
