My thoughts on more Halo games

I wonder what it say about me that the ONLY reason I'd support another Halo game (or even a trilogy for that matter) is that Red versus Blue from Roosterteeth would get more material to work with?
FA+

Halo 4 start a fight.
Heck, I love seeing the fails of the week.
i still say my theory is why its got such a rabid fanbase is cause the original halo came out for Xbox. and while not garbage. it was Meh at best (mostly cause just about everything in the game is blatantly stolen, weapons from UT, the flood=zerg. so on and so forth) but the people with x'box's were so desperate to show they hadnt wasted their money on that terrible failure of a system that they screamed halo's praises. because while meh at best, compared to every other steaming pile of shit the original xbox ever called a game, it WAS the greatest game ever. but when compared to everything else in existance it was not only a meh shooter, but its actually started a revolution in FPS gaming thats slowly degrading the entire genre down the drain.
Halo is one of the many cancers on the gaming industry. and it feeds off the praise of the dimwitted masses that keep endorsing it. and its an attempt by microsoft to FORCE an iconic character onto their brand. Nintendo has long since been personified by Mario and Link. theyre two enormous names, and recognizable characters everyone can notice immediately. and halo is just an attempt to try to unnaturally force master chief to be the same for them.
Yes anything that gets RoasterTeeth to make new material is a good things. I still love their F.E.A.R. stuff so good. I won't mind seeing what the 343 guys can add to the cannon, I loved how they did reach.
go look up the needler gun from unreal tournament, then look at the needle gun from the original halo. they are identical
its one thing for everyone to have a magnum. its another for unreal tournament to have a gun that shoots glowing purple crystals thats never been seen before and then halo does it.
Aliens and spaceships dont mean shit to me when the aliens are half ripped off other media. bungee even said that the flood was heavily, quote 'inspired' by the zerg. and since the flood act identical, inspired is just another word for ripped off.
oh and if your complain about how many halo games there are just look and cod and mario. for ages now i what nintendo to make a new metroid or star fox but no they make god damn thousands of mario games with the same story.
but hey we all have our opinions and two people ageing over the internet won't change them so what the point really i just felt like talking.
and as far as dual wielding
Perfect Dark
Marathon did it first; which was made by Bungie, creators of Halo.
First, Just curious, which gun are you referring to in the original UT as being ripped off by the needler? As far as i recall the closest might be the chain gun, which is only similar in that in can fire a glowing bluish purple crystal. No homing capabilities, as i recall.
Secondly, i agree halo is not the first console shooter period. It is however, the first console shooter that brought console players into shootng each other online. While it was in my opinion about 2 years behind the times in gameplay, it was a decent game, and proved the online fps experience pc players enjoyed could be brought to tbe console market.
As for ripping the flood off from the zerg, go read starship troopers, or any of the other hundreds of sci fi works featuring vaguely insectoid aliens that infest and invade. Christ, tbe zerg design is hugely influenced by warhammer 40k tyranids.
As for the hide behind a wall to heal mechanic, i dont think its killing the modern fps. Admittedly, its kind of stupid, especially in games where you're in the real world, but it's no less realistic or stupid than eunning around eating turkey dinners that appear out of nowhere to regain health. Its a decent aystem that has opened up a lot of new tactical play and when properly implemented xan freate skme very rense and rich gameplay.
Bottom line, like an ipod, halo wasnt a true first, but it did bring a lot of goid things together in a nice package for the first time for console players.
Even though it was supposed to be a pc game :|
If you plan on giving yet another Halo game, then bring something new to it, I am pretty damn tired of playing a Spartan ALL the time, fighting Covenant/Brood forces. Sure, I know the Covenant isnt the main enemy in the upcoming game, but you will definately fight some of them.
love that series
Than again....I'm a PC gamer...I'm still waiting for Halo 3 to release for PC even though I own it on Xbox. I know it probably never will, but meh...One can dream...
Another thing that bothered me about the PC counter-parts is that the game following the original halo wasn't as strong as the original halo. I mean, they dumbed down some of the weapons, which was rather disappointing. Another mistake I thought microsoft and bungie personally made was making the exclusive to Windows Vista users. I think they would have made a lot more sales letting it be compatible with Windows XP. Another thing that also bothered me, though I guess I understand why they did was that they made you sign up through Windows Live to play Halo 2 PC. I don't understand why they can't have things simple like the original Halo. Just make a character and go. I suppose it was attempt to get more people into Windows Live and prevent people using the same names and maybe have the ability to have publicly displayed achievements.
That's my thoughts on the Halo games I've played...I'll admit, I love Halo, but now-a-days...I'm frankly tired of things that should have died awhile ago.
