Also, did you know they held off the Soviet Army for months by themselves? Seriously, look at the strength and casualty data on this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_War . The Finns even did things like pour water on the treads of Soviet tanks parked on frozen lakes at night and set up fake camps, complete with empty tents and cardboard cutouts, to trick the Russians into believing their numbers were greater.
I would guess it's largely self-cencorship. Finns are sort of shy and won't display their stuff if they don't think they're at least a little decent. Of course it doesn't apply to all Finns and I have this feeling that many teenagers readily put whatever they do for everyone to see online.
