Angerfist does experimental DnB? [Buckle Up and Kill]
-Ziggy's Tracks of the Week-
Giraffage - Tell Me
Lane 8, Patrick Baker - Ghosts
Brame, Hamo - Hotshot So I've been on semi-vacation for the past week, and I come back to find two neat things.
The Meet the Pyro update, and a new EP from Angerfist called "Buckle Up and Kill (No Snakes No Glory)"
I'm obviously here to talk about the second one, as this is not a Team Fortress 2 group. c:
So here I am, thinking five new Angerfist tracks have been made, and I'm all excited. I'm thinking it's Gabber-type music,
I click on the video for Angerfist - Eraser, as that's the first video I saw, and before the video loaded, I noticed Danny had said:
I understand it can be a disappointing tune for some of you. but it's just something I really wanted to do. And did.
It's not like I gave up hardcore or anything...just an experiment :)
Now I don't know what to expect, and then it starts playing.
For the first minute, I was disappointed. I thought here I am, listening to one of the biggest names in the Hardcore scene, making some light dubstep stuff. Then it gets to about 0:50-1:00, and I was satisfied. This isn't some easy-listening track, as I assumed it to be.
To me, it seems to be a mixture of Dub/Brostep, Drum 'n' Bass, and Hardcore Breakbeat...
This isn't the first time he's done something other than Hardcore, I'm sure at least one of you has heard Kidnapped Redneck off of Pissin' Razorblades.
AmeP.S. Sorry to always be talking about the Hardcore scene. D:
Edit: I should be specific. This is just one of the songs from his new EP. He has four more if you like this one.
FA+

Although the wubs get really annoying but I can still enjoy it.
I've noticed lots of new DnB is like this though, lots of wobble basses. It kinda helps because it makes everything more interesting but most of the time is sounds bad. But Angerfist has done a pretty good job. :>
I like this song though.
I MEAN THIS IS SPARTA
I MEAN
BROOOOO
Normally I wouldn't ever listen to this genre, but it's not bad.
Besides, he's not sticking with this, it was just an experiment.
"those are your options"
Y u mad tho?
I'm sick of all my favorite Dutch DJs taking the bro step route for easy money. First Showtek dropped Deadmau5 at Audiotistic, and now Angerfist does bro/drum/fuckstep. And now rumors of Pendulum breaking up in favor of Knife Party!!
That's what I'm getting at.
Call it "following the money", or "moving with the times", but to me it's all selling out.
Thanks for the journal of angerfist, they're my #1 hardcore artist forever.
