Politics on the dance floor
While I was playing SecondLife, a group meant for an online virtual dance club started chatting about some nonsense, when somebody began talking about how much they hate Obama, and will vote for Mitt Romney just so Obama doesn't get re-elected.
At first I ignored their banter, not wanting to encourage political "discussion" in a chatroom for an online virtual dance club...politics seem out of place, no? And yet it continues, and snowballs, and more people start talking, and it's nothing but a bunch of pissants bitching and moaning about how much Obama sucks, but nothing intellectual is actually said, just a bunch of crap. Finally I tired of it and asked them to take their political bullshit out of the group chat, as that's not what it's for. Their response? Telling me to remove them from the group if I don't like it. Obviously they know I can't do that, but really? That's the response? If I don't like your political nonsense being spouted like diarrhea in a chat room, I can just suck it?
This is why I hate politics. Not the intricacies of the system, but the completely moronic way in which anybody seems to handle it. It's fine to have different opinions, it's fine to disagree, but to act like an asshole when somebody doesn't even argue with you, but simply asks you not to discuss it in a group chat meant for entertainment and enjoyment?
My agitated and insincere feeling is that these people can get hit by a bus and die horribly, and I would enjoy watching them being crushed by the wheels, brains spattering out onto the pavement.
Not really. But seriously, fuck these people.

I'm with you there. I've never seen something benefit so many people yet renew so passionately the hatred people have for the person giving it to them. But on the other side.....really? We can't just move the debate elsewhere because people don't want to hear it?
