Recovery Observations

In the days after my surgery, I have found the following on my person:
Two EKG wire clamping pads - No idea what these things are technically called. They're just metal nipples on sticky pads that I assume allow for the monitor clamps to attach to me.
A staple in my thigh. Apparently, it may be there from where they went in with an endoscope? No idea if it's still supposed to be there or not.
A huge bruise along my inner right foot. According to my doctor, it is normal for bruising to occur, etc etc. According to my mom, they whacked my foot pretty hard while I was still unconscious. o.O
A patch of medical tape strapped just along the right side of my groin. It is from this experience that I am considering shaving everything down there, because holy moly, half-brazillian wax must hurt. I can usually withstand a lot of pain, but pulling hairs down there? Yeowch.
I have also found that most people seem to cringe at the thought that my ACL came from a donor. One of my friends suggested that it will act as a Zombie Litmus Strip, as it will be the closest foreign flesh to me should I turn. I have some fucked up friends.

FA+

I found those sticky pads on me for about 3 days; couldn't reach the ones on my back.
If I ever turn zombie, I swear the first brains I'll eat will be the fine folks at Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
Oh, right-- there's no evidence available that anyone there actually HAS a brain.......
I hear you about the Blue Cross/Shield too. I had to badger those people for over a month because they had 'forgotten' to enter me into their system; I only found out three months after I had signed up due to this accident! Apparently, they'll take my money, but when it comes to actually doing work, they can't even be arsed to do so much as enter my name into the registry. :|
