One thing that seems to be constant throughout the known universe is that most races have a habit of forgetting the past.
Civilizations will be built on the broken bodies and dreams of slaves, only for people to realize that slavery is a really STUPID idea (And it ALWAYS is). Then they wait a few hundred years and start doing it all over again. Wars waged because someone idiot got it in his head that he was better than those around him. Just like the school yard bully, ‘ey? Picks fights on those smaller because he thinks he’s better.
The signs are always there, they just get ignored. Why? Because the next time around, it’s not called “slavery” or “war.” No, it gets some new fangled gimmicky name that exists simply to hide the truth. By the time people see the facts in front of them, millions are dead, and millions more are suffering.
Embrace your pasts. Learn from them. It’ll make things a lot better in the long run.
