So, I'm going to stream work on more badges tonight. www.livestream.com/animatedvisions
Also, I have a question for this base of folks. Anyone know of any quality Alaskan Malamute breeders? I am interested in getting a puppy, however, I don't know the first thing about researching it. I probably won't be ready to own a pup until after my vacation in October, but I don't think it's too early to start looking. My house is too quiet and everything I see reminds me of my poochie. :(
Anyways, discuss :D
Thanks,

I am not trying to be a downer, but I see 30 dogs personally a week, often more, and bad breeding is rampant. A bad breeder for a malamute can equal a dramatically shortened life (which is short anyway) and most commonly ends up causing a lot of joint distress in older age, displaysia and lameness which is no fun for anyone.
Beyond all my pessimism, good luck, and happy vaccuuming...
Echoing what Emberli said - please go to a responsible breeder (not that I think you wouldn't, but it seems to bear repeating for anyone stumbling onto this info). You're not starting early - with a good breeder and a couple litters a year, you may be waiting a bit, but it's good to start poking around.
See if any of those breeders are reasonably local and start there. Also check into rescues if you don't necessarily want to start with another puppy - there are LOADS of dogs who need a good home.
Note me if I can help any more, and good luck :)
It was hard to do but i'm glad I did work on it after I lost my 19 yr old cocker spaniel last fall, it was months before I was able to get the puppy but, it gave me something happy to look to. Being home alone all day before the hubby comes home really made things quiet and depressing without him :(
