If you have read and liked my "Phoenix" stories, I have just uploaded my latest tale. This is not chapter six though. In fact it's more a prequel to those stories. Actually, it is chapter one of my novel, "Flight of the Phoenix". I have gone back to the beginning and I've basically rewritten "Crew Review" and vastly expanded it. There's more to come before I tweak the existing Phoenix stories to fit in better, but in the end it's intended to be a complete novel rather than the series of adventures it has been up until now. Love the additions, much better layout.
For instance: how was Ceres and/or Danson's early years? Maybe something about Ceres' training. The Caitians might also be interesting to hear more about. Maybe the chakats too....

It kept me entertained for a good 45 min (or however long it took to read it), though :D I liked the black humour where she wonders if it would have been better for her to get a near-fatal stabbing sooner. But I still don't quite understand who was beating her up exactly...
It's nice to get to know the chars better though; however, I think the chakats and caitians could do with some more individual development, it's all to easy atm to think of them only in the collective atm.
I also had a ball tryig to pronounce the Caitian words (which seem to have been pulled out of your arse :P)
As for character development, I would like to point out that it's the first chapter of a novel. Further character development occurs in later chapters. There are a LOT of characters to develop.
And as for who beat up Anastasiya, it doesn't really matter, does it? Shi was in a gang - gangs have fights. The Rostovs could have been a rival gang, or a nasty family they were having a dispute with.
(heck, me muse be thinking I need to add a tale about 'Maverick' showing how the time has passed since Neal 'bothered' them ... )
