Popsicles

I'm living on them.
Man, I cannot wait to move to a nicer climate. Yesterday I got to hang out with my one sister who lives far away yesterday. She won the genetic lottery - a few days in the sun and she turns a lovely, all-over shade of golden bronze. Me, I have the delicate, fragile complexion of a fairy princess or a blind cave salamander. I woke up today with the skin on my face all tight and hot, and feeling nauseous. I'll be peeling like a leper shortly, and be just as maggoty-pale underneath. Of course I can't bitch too much, since it's my own fault for being too neglectful to put on sunscreen.
The idea that you're being literally cooked by the sun has always grossed me out. It's like those urban legends of someone putting a hamster in the microwave or a baby in the oven, the thought of the mounting agony and terror, and being unable to escape or even comprehend what is happening to you, or why, it's absolutely horrifying. Everyone's got those weird little phobia things, I guess.

Those little icy pops that come in the plastic... they have become a staple of our diet for the past week or so. Can't get it below 80 in the house. x.x Thankfully it's supopsed to drop to the upper 80s tomorrow... hopefully it does. And hopefully it'll go down a bit more from there. I can't take this. Neither can my car........
We had a metro train partially derail because the heat caused the track to warp! It's crazy.
