hmmm... te sugiero intentar dibujar personajes con la boca abierta o sonriendo algunas veces, para que asi te vayas acostumbrando a dibujar dientes y lengua... eso te va a ayudar mucho para amplicar la gamma de expresiones que puedes alcanzar.

If you are familiar how a real human would make select facial expressions, you could try applying that to an animal's face. Sometimes over exaggerating helps as well, to get a feel of what your aiming for when you "tone it down"
