Need help with my 3DS not connecting.

So yeah my 3DS has spotty connection and mostly won't connect.
Any one have any idea's as to why my 3DS connection is non-existent now?
I can't do any updating or connect to wi-fi games on my 3DS eiher.
Any one know if there are some ports that I need to open on my router so that it will work?
I went to the Nintendo website as I did a connection test put in the error code and that did not really help any.
So any suggestions before I chuck the thing out the window?

It just recently stopped working and it was working fine for along time just recently been not connecting and I have done a reset many times on the router and still did not work.
WTH Nintendo?
I swear Nintendo's wifi is not the greatest. Lmao
