That inevitable state of poverty...

You'll notice something about people who always have money problems never really stems from bad financial decisions. It's more about low wages, no hours, living costs and those....accidents that can always happen: medical bill, some fee or tax, something breaks, etc, etc...
That's why when like most people you try to save money and then something happens. I see journals about this all the time.
Well driving home today, some thing in my car "pops" and the check engine light comes on and for some reason the car can't see to accelerate past 20. Thankfully I was close to home. When it was started up again just a few minutes ago, everything seems fine. So taking this as a warning sign, I'll have to get it checked out. Hopefully it's nothing major.

Watch out for repair shops that will try to sell you more than you need.

Hope not, dad took it in to get it looked at and mechanic said it could have been a backfire. Otherwise the car seems to be running fine.
