its simple, furries and neko are both anthro.

anthropomorphism being the mix of animal and human on any combination. if there's a talking dog, its anthro, if there's a man with a fih head, that's also anthro. so adding tails and ears of an animal to a human i also anthro. it also annoys me that people sometimes go "you cant have your fursona like that its not right, it shouldn't have a human face or it shouldn't look human" because in the end no matter how much you split it its still anthro XD there's no wrong.

so yeah furries are not neko and vise versa but they both are anthro and there are many variations of it XD

very true. But anthro and furry also have different definitions x3 Such as a "brony" is an anthro, not a furry. I was made sure i got that right by my friend who dislikes furries and is a borny x3 (i still say he's a closet furry XD) But i agree with you. furry and neko are different like furry and brony, but all of them are in the anthro class, just different subdivisions.

hmmm its not such a big deal to me... arent humans animals as well... i would say that lupine has it pretty right... people tell me taurens arent furrys... but a minotaur is? idk really if someone is part animal. in the slightest way its furry... but a person can say they arent furry. hell i didnt even know what a furry was. i called them anthros or monsters. and honestly i still do... what makes a monster a monster anyways... and aliens to me are furry as well... sci fy furry but furry. just look at avatar... they look like giant blue kitties. *shrugs*

I still think theres a clear difference between anthro and furry. furry is just one specific subcategory of anthro. humans are mammals, so anthro, maybe, but not furry.

Heres the way i see it. Furries are a wide variety of animals. theres Canines,felines,Horses..ect. Nekos are just cat like and nothing else.

I see what you mean. I guess you have to look at what that characteristics of an Anthro. But one thing for sure, I cant find a Direct definition of what a "furry' is other than a description of and animals fur.
