small rant about megaplex and 18+ dances

Hello. Welcome to "My Journal" I hope you will find out what i am writing is amusing...

I WAS planning on attending megaplex.. until I found out the Dances at the end of each night are 18+... I was like. "wh-what! b-b-but.. the.. i.. if i don't go to a dance at a con..I'LL GO INSANE!!!"
I personally think the people who run the Dance's at megaplex should look at the other cons and notice pretty much none of the others have 18+ restrictions, maybe 12+ or recommendation of 16+ but i honestly, don't think 18+ is acceptable. I have not been to MP before, and i know there isn't a bar in there, since then it'd have to be 21+. I know that people get hot, heavy, and murry purry touchy feely on the dance floor, but hey, it's not like they are stripping naked and having sex in the corners of the room! they might also think "oh, no one under 18 will come" Well, the number of teenagers in the fandom are rising, and the numbers that attend cons are sky rocketing. I am one that attends quite a few cons, and, as most of you know, I love to dance and I pretty much can't live without it.. I know there's the dance competition.. but.. telling me i cant dance, AT A CON, is like telling me I'm not allowed to attack anything in a video game.
If that's confusing to understand, a con for me can be fun, but the Dancing is just what makes it, oh so much more better and interesting for me.
A video game can be fun without fighting and attacking given the right story, but if you can attack and actually fight and do something, it can be a lot more fun!
If that's still confusing then tough luck, you don't understand the weird comparisons I make :P.
I'm just really, really, really upset that they have an age restriction on the dance.. I don't know exactly why, or would know of many good reasons for them to have 18+ restrictions, UNLESS they are prevoking the attendees to have sexual interactions while inside the dances. which is what it seems like, since a few friends of mine I talk to on FaceBook, who have attended have told me they get to make out a lot in the dances.
I think making it 18+ gives the people going in the thought of freedom to have sexual actions, agree or disagree this is just IMO.
If i do end up going, and I am denied entree into the dance, or denied to get the dance pass, I will bring my points up with con staff in hopes they will actually listen, not hoping for much since no one wants to listen or argue with a 16 yr old these days. SPECIALLY in the fandom..
I know probably a few of you are going to get on my ass about this and say "oh, you're just being a little brat, you don't understand that these raves are for big people" blah blah blah. I don't care about the kissing, the grinding, or whatever the fucking stupid fucks inside that room with the music do, all I, me, Zoomba, Stevie, all That I care about, is getting my chance to dance and listen to some of the fandoms good DJ's music and have a good time. is that too much for ask for?
Sorry if none of this makes any sence. like i said before, no one likes listening to bratty teenagers! :P
I'm just a little tired of seeing that, no matter how long there was nothing happening, and how many groups look welcome to teenagers, there is ALWAYS the ones that make Teen furries seem like a fucking plaque and that's what really pisses me off sometimes...

As for everything else YOU mentioned, that's another part of the laws. You're under 18, so you don't really get to make the calls of what's appropriate for you, especially if it's a matter of constaff coming under fire.
What I'm saying: if all the points you mentioned, about anything that's "sexual" in a dance causing it to be "18+" - then you really don't have much you can say, because just about anything revolving around that nature is 18+ anyway. It's to cover their back end if they know they can't stop it, otherwise ... I'm sure they'd stop it. In fact, they probably CAN stop it, cuz Megaplex dance room is -damn small-.
That leads me back to...
Curfew. It could be curfew if the dances go late. I don't remember their schedules and if they really do any dances during the day (there hasn't been a lot of convention space for multiple ones so the same room is also used for other activities).
Beyond that, I don't really know. I won't be going this year, and I DO sympathize with you. I'm just sorta' being Devil's Advocate, I guess?

That has GOT to be somethin' 'new' there than, considerin' I didn't hear about any restrictions to those underage for the con last year while I was there. The place I primarily stayed at on the con floors, if not at any panels, were the dances, and really, they were't all 'filled up' with that many people on average (at least while I was in the room).
Nor did I see any 'suggestive dancing'.
Really though, I think you still should have the right to a dance pass, if that is your primary reason for even bein' there! If you don't get the opportunty, though, then jus' don't come~
If they're basically takin' away your main pleasure/joy to be had within a con at night, I say don't go, since you wouldn't enjoy yourself as much <:)
OR RETALIATE, and use the con floors/hallways as your entire dance floor! >8D
Really though, perhaps when you get there, maybe they'll 'drop' the whole thing and allow those underage in the dance at night <:D
