Moving again?

Yep, it's posted in our journals and stuff about us moving.

yah again but hopefully for the last time. We are now moving into a nice big house we are buying ^-^

Omg, I want one soooo bad but I have cats and a dog.
You should be careful about selling any animal on Craigslist, you can get some really unsavory characters.

i have already tried to contact all the squirrel breeders i know and non have answered my messages. i wont give him to anyone and will quiz people first to make sure he goes to a good home. I have a cat and many dogs but like i said he never comes out of the cage and when he does he only climbs on your upper body to stay high off the ground.

Yes! This means that I have a good chance of running into you guys outta the blue.
I kinda wish I knew about this little one before now. I was thinking about owning one, but
many people say before you do, ask people who have them about owning a Glider before you get one.

I have to practice patience with it and hopefully be able to get one.

southern flyers can be great pets! This guy is my 4th flyer and i had the misfortune of getting him from a bad breeder and much too old to bond. But my other flyers 2 being wild caught from my cats were extremely friendly as if I had little dogs to carry around. i was extremely caught off guard with this guy as he wanted nothing to do with humans from the very beginning.

Oh mai. He must've had a bad...very bad issue happen to him from the breeder. -ears lower- See, they tell us not to purchase them from people likes that, but you can't help it sometimes cause you want to get them out of that situation.

Is it true though that they are sorta bad at night only cause they are really active at night?

i have had another from a breeder and he was an amazing pet.
Actually my squirrel is in the room with me at night and i dont hear him over the desk fan I have. they are really quiet if they have toys/wheel and plenty of things to chew and carry around. He chirps for attention every once in awhile but its too cute for me to get upset over ^-^

Okay! That's a good thing at least. I'm glad to know that and that makes it all the more acceptable in my book.
The only problem is that I'm going to school to be a nurse. I can't get one now, and I KNOW I can't take the lovely with me inside
the hospital because of the policies they have.

That's the main problem I'm having with trying to decide on weither to get one or not. I'll be up when they are up though.

Well you would be better off waiting then. When you first get your baby flyer that require feedings 4-5 times a day and to be carried around in a bonding pouch for at least the first 2 weeks so they can be socialized to you and others. Im sure a hospital will not allow a small rodent in thier building ^^;

Hmmmm.....-tapping chin- Well, have you ever taken your glider with you on planes or such? Like in the little bonding pouch? I thought about possibly doing travel nursing for a little bit to allow that time for us to bond. I could also work in a small clinic too as well. I wanna be able to have a fit place for us both!

Looking at the website I'm quite happy that they are in Texas, so that's even better and I can drive down there! Although I wonder if they allow you to come and visit in...I'ma have to ask that. Oh, have you ever heard of this site breeder: http://www.hartlandsugargliders.com/ ? It seems reputable, and she answered some of the basic questions.

Never heard of them but I was also not looking for sugar gliders. They are very difficult to take care of and house. I would really recommend doing a lot of research about them first. They tend to be very messy pets and stink. Plus make lots of noises at night like dog barking sounds. they have a very strict and unique diet of fruits, bugs and pellet food. Southern flying squirrels are more like gliding hamsters and only require the addition of vitamin D3 and C using reptile powder vitamins and apples, oranges which they really enjoy.

Hmmm....This information is helping me alot in choosing them. I didn't know S.F.S.'s were different from Gliders. It's opening up so much more to my knowledge and really trying to decide what kind of pet I would like. Neither of them would be expensive to take care of (diet wise and such, just vet bills would be in question), but I guess I'ma need to see them for myself. Now, I must now go and see the places where breeder's have them and interact with them. ^w^
