I like the new banner! ^_^ Its always around 100° here and i still go out and catch fireflies. Never gets boring! Brings me peace when i'm stressed.

I like the idea of a uber-drought heat wave banner. Just replace the grass with fire, change the expressions to terror, and we're good!

Falvie's art is good and she'ss a sweet person but i think it's unfair to have an already insanely popular artist work to be the banner for 3 whole months when there are better and more deserving artsts who should get that spotlight

I don't care about popularity or names or whatever. It's about what art is more visually pleasing. The other banner looked better.

This is just as good as the banner if not better than Falvie's

because it's not Falvie's art or anyone who isn't popular doesn't make it any less appealing.
This banner has good shading, and good perspective, and it's also "colorful" as well... not to mention the artists is a very good artist and judging by their gallery they put a lot of detail into their work.. because it's not done by one of your favorite artists doesn't mean it's less deserving to be a banner.

I personally think I have a lot of work to do in order to improve to get to falvie's lvl, atleast in the shading department(it is an unavoidable and difficult hurdle). I totally can see how people would miss the other banner. However, I don't think Thera meant any particular harm in what they were saying...

However, I do appreciate your kind words(seriously, thank you so much! I thrive on acknowledgement <3), and especially the point you made. Every artist has their own specialties and appealing aspects that they put in to their work, however different from others. Same as how we all have different tastes and what-not. <:]
I'm sure we've all seen banners on here we really don't like because they don't fit our tastes.
The cool thing about it is that FA gets around that occasional dislike by changing banners all the time, so its all good, everyone wins at some point. :3

Yes Falvie is very, very good at shading and creativity, I am a fan of her work, but I'm not going to treat her art as if it's the best because it's not. No one's art is. The point I was making wasn't about the skill of the artist, it was more about how unfair it was for Falvie's art to be there for 3 months while more deserving artists should be there... and the fact that FA usually changes the banner every month. I think particularly less popular ones are more deserving of the spot, but there's nothing wrong with them getting a spot on the banner.

It also wasn't about the taste or someone's opinion on what banner is better XD haha my point was cute doesn't equal better, especially if it's from your favorite artist. Many people like to attack others for making the slightest bit of criticism about their favorite artist. Even though mines wasn't to diss Falvie's art, it was to point out that it was unfair for her to get 3 months. We all have our personal preferences in art, I know I do, we should all at least respect another person's art, even if we do not like it or think that person has no skill what-so-ever.. I personally believe you are better than Falvie in some aspects but she's better than you in others, it's a natural thing in art. I don't think she's necessarily better than you because of her pretty colors, we all have much to improve on and we all have different styles different people like... but it's a breath of fresh air that the banner has been changed.

As far as content in the banner, I personally think yours is better because of the detail involved in it, better as in content. And thank you for not lashing out at me for stating my opinion. Though my intention wasn't to come an argue, I guess that's what it turned into... but oh well. I am just a blunt person, and I like to be fair and I like to see other people have fair chances at the spot light.

All I did was put "month-name"banner2012, and FA and stuff in the tags of the picture and noted Dragoneer about it (the note hasn't been read yet though, so idk). Maybe adjusting the tags will help though :X

Sadly, I liked the old one better. Every time I saw it, I was like, "D'awww" and wished I could have seen the whole picture instead of the small banner (if there was one). Not to be cliche, but I'd like to see the new banner on fire too. Too hot over here. :x

Question...does anyone know how to submit a banner? I can't seem to figure out how it's done ^^;

:D You have to make the picture, and then in the tags section of the submission, put in monthnameBanner2012, or whatever season or whenever you think it would be best used I guess. Whatever tags relate to FA and banner are usually a helpful addition in having the picture found. Supposedly, through browsing tags like that, the mods will find it, and if they like it and figure it works, they'll likely use it.
Shouting on Dragoneer's page supposedly doesn't hurt either. I've seen a few people do that for banners that they thought should be used.
But over all, I am not sure if there is a top secret process that is sure-fire to work.
