Question on Pricing for my commissions
What Nai Has To Get Out Of Her Thoughts..
Im looking for my watchers/potential commissioners opinions.
I thought about raising my commission prices. But then again, im not sure. Because i feel like i have improved over the months.. and with this new shading technique, it does take me longer than what it used to to finish a piece.
So i'd like your honest opinion about how much you would pay for my work.
Preferably; something along the lines of this http://www.furaffinity.net/view/8425677/
I want my prices to be fair, and i want to make sure that people are paying for what they want ;u;
( if you think it should be lower than what i have listed, then dont worry, you wont upset me! )
Please send an anonymous ask on my tumblr here to tell me if you want to be anonymous http://aerosocks.tumblr.com/ask
Many Thanks for any input!

Honestly, for a full piece like that you could easily charge 70-100$ for it.
Though with furries, we don't have quite the amount of cash as people in the art industry, so I'd say 60$ even. You can really charge as much as you want though, you've clearly worked hard at developing your art and style.
Remember that you're always improving, never sit back and say you're done. We learn something new every day, so continue drawing what inspires you.
Not to say they won't save up like they do for a Wolf-Nymph portrait.
Charge 20$/hour?
For that specific picture? It's fully shaded, two characters, detailed background. I'd definitely say in the $150 range if not more.
$130.00 for a pic like this
give or take for an extra charter
If it were a single character with that much detail without a background I would charge about $50 per character.
You do absolutely amazing work, don't undercharge yourself. :)
Looking at your prices now, I like them as I can afford them. At the same time, there are other artist that I like yet can't afford, and that's fine too. I'm personally of the opinion that you should be paid what you're worth, and you are at least worth minimum wage. I could possibly see a price hike and not be upset with it. Then again, I don't have money right now to spend, so I might not be the best person to ask.
Though I'd love to commission you in the future.
For this, I would say $50-60 base, $10-20 extra character, $10-20 background. So, in total, the example you gave would be $70-100. Looking at it from a business perspective, unless you're really in demand (I don't know if you are?), it could be hard to charge people $100+ unless it's something extremely detailed. I know, for me personally, I don't know if I'd ever spend more than $100 on a commission, but a lot of people are happy to pay $2-300 for a piece by a favorite artist of theirs. Hopefully this helps!
Why not do a smaller bump up and see how the market changes for you? Taka's comment above sounds like a really good place to start out. If you continue to have floods of interest -- which you will! -- then slowly raise prices until you find the spot at which things begin to slow down. Or until you find yourself not enjoying the requests made of you because they're too simple (all lineart, all icons because they're cheap).
