I canceled my AT&T service and still got billed.

I was told by AT&T after canceling my service (I was two days into the billing cycle), I could pay the last bill and get credited back, or wait and get a reajusted bill later on based on how many days into the cycle I was (I got two days of service before I canceled).
I did the waiting game for the readjusted bill, and my grandma didn't tell me about that bill when it came, but now I've seen it. It's the same amount I owed before + a five dollar late charge. :\ Way to screw me, AT&T.
Gran's set on not paying it since she's figuring 'hey, this is what they told you, so this is what they get.' - That's more of a paraphrase, really. I really do feel misinformed now that this has turned into the outcome of that. I can understand being frustrated to not want to pay it, but she's gotten herself into crap before by being stubborn like this.
Anyone else have phone bill trouble like this?

I got one of their phones not too long ago and thought it was the greatest thing ever a few day later I learned that were I worked and lived was out of their coverage, every time I made a call it would ether not connect or black out during.
I said F**** this so I went to asked for an expansion and they told me that there was nothing they could do, so I wanted a refund
The AT&T lady said (Very well sir, just bring back the box and pay your last bill tomorrow) so I did, and you’re not going to belief this crud, she looks at me and then the same box the phone came in as Said (I’m sorry sir but I can’t except a box in a slightly used condition but all see what the manager saids)
The box was perfectly fine, just a bit beet up, that’s all. (I throw it in a closet)
Then came the bill time, thought since I only had the thing for a few days the charge would be like 20 or 30 dollors….. They wanted me the pay $300.79 cent!!!!!!!
I was like…….What?
She gave me some sort of fake ass smile and said (do to the condition of the box the usage fee pluse the bla bla bla) you get the idea.
It was at the moment I just wanted to slap this lady sooo hard, but I didn’t because that would be wrong I took a deep breath and just asked for my money back, They gave it to me, which was only $50 bucks.
And just walked out of there, and said I’d pay the bill throw the mail……. I lied HELL NO IM NOT PAYING THAT BILL!
The keep sending me letters to pay but I just throw them away, I returned the product back to its original condition (Re- formatted it) and payed for the amount of minutes I used on it which was close to $20 bucks. But I’m not paying $300.79 cent!!!!!!!
What are they going to do, send out a warrant for my arrest, I’d like to See them try.
I'm wondering how many of them know all the details to having a customer quit the service.
