So our house got broken into, as well as some neighbors up the street. My mother lost the bulk of things, a laptop, an ipad, and several thousand in five dollar bills (her travel fund). I've got a lot of conflicting thoughts. I do have some fear and anger, but I also don't think there's much use in indulging in either, and I don't really want anything bad to happen to the robbers. I'm trying to remain calm, but everyone else is stressing out, reasonably of course, and that stresses me out too. Well, the year of the Dragon's been a pretty crazy year. I think of myself as a worm often, and I kind of wish it was the year of the Worm and super peaceful and boring. Hah!
I kind of wonder if this event signifies anything in the greater scheme of things, as I feel life events can reflect the surrounding world's state. That's part of the reason I'm just trying to deal with it as calmly as I can, without riling up my emotions. It is a bit hard though, I must admit ^^;;. However, I remember a Calvin and Hobbes comic where Calvin's house was broken into, and it just sums up how we feel. Bless you Bill Watterson.

To me it was not the loss of property that was the most upsetting thing, but the feeling of having a personal space be invaded by someone with malicious intent.
I wish you strength and peace in these turbulent times.
