You really can't be too careful really. Those kind of threats are not a joking matter, bordering on the deranged and mentally troubled. At my company we have had many serious threats emailed or called in where we would send out for an investigation due to the fact that someone did make a threat to persons or property, just due to how serious it was.

Hope they throw the law book at him. Literally, and figuratively.

His parents probably don't give a damn anyway. From what I've noticed there's a rapidly growing trend of parents not giving a damn about what their children see or do online. Too much hassle to try and restrict them or worse... discipline them.

C'mon, the kid/man needs to get a swift kick in the windsock for every letter in every sentence having something to do with rape. Oh it's still a crime and even if he turns out to be a minor, there's still punishment (there's a reason we have juvi, ya know?). They might turn evidence over to local authorities since I think that's a little out of FBI jurisdiction, though.

And man, I have to say that I want to put my boot up a lot of parents asses these days. When I was a kid my dad had all my passwords to any web site and email I had so he could keep an eye on what I was doing and the computer was in a public space. Now the parents just toss computers and cell phones at their kids willy-nilly. We should probably throw the parents in jail right along with the kids to make sure they start getting the point of responsibility.
