Slade's Log: Stardate 50108.2
Well I can almost guarantee that I'll be updating this more often throughout the summer. So here's a quick recap of what's been going on, followed but a brief summation of what's to come, mixed with a little bit of present-day stocking/journal stuffers.
Past:
I have been working hard (or hardly working...har har) at making it through this semester. This year has certainly been an eye opener for me. So much as changed! Yet, as they say, so much has also stayed the same. I've become steeped in the furry fandom, made TONS of great new friends, got over my social anxiety in a lot of situations, came out, started going out with the most wonderful guy in the world, had a lot of first experiences, made plans to move into an apartment, made old friends into new ones, drudged my way through classes, and finally took my exams this week. That leads me to...
Present:
Today was the last exam I had (Astronomy). I didn't study for it, like at all, and I kinda wish I had. I figured I'd know most of the stuff because Astronomy is naturally interesting to me, yet is only a filler class. Ah well. I made it through the week and now am waiting on my grades to see how badly, er good, I did. I have also moved back to Flint for the summer. Hooray...I don't think it'll be too bad, but I'm a little concerned about finances and such. Time will tell I guess. I just need to make it to August. I hope I can survive that long, heh. I am dreading next semester though. I hear the Thermodynamics class is a make-or-break type class for my major, and MET students pretty much live in the MET lab from morning til 1 or 2am because of that class (and similar classes). I love my free time But at least I won't be up there alone I guess. Speaking of next semester...(gotta love segways)
Future:
I plan on making a couple of trips. One this Saturday to
scardykat85's sure-to-be-awesome graduation open house, then the May 10th furmeet in Ypsilanti. I am going to get to meet more awesome people that I've met from online (such as
nuka_nuki and maybe hopefully
moose_bmd ), and it's just going to be all around fun. I MUST take pics. This year is my "golden birthday" as Luke calls it, since I'm turning 24 on June 24th I don't have anything special planned since I can't afford anything, but I am assuming after the festivities with just the family, my Flint friends and I might hang out or do something afterwards. I'm gonna really be missing furries at this point, heh. Then when August finally rolls around, MONEY AND NEW APARTMENT. OMG I will be sooooo happy. I guarantee I will be using the full leasing date on that contract, from August 12th to June 10th. If I can some how manage it or find it, I'm going to try and stay in Mt. Pleasant or someplace nearby through the summer until the next leasing contract starts. So much going on this month as well. May has always been a busy month for my family and I, but now even more so for us. My older brother is having surgery next week to replace his knee cap(s) (he has rheumatoid arthritis so he hasn't been able to walk much or anything without being in real pain, hopefully though after the surgery and now that he is on the proper medication, he should be back to his b-ball playing self, we'll see), and I guess he's going to be staying with us for several weeks while he recovers. This puts pressure on ME to get a job because of the extra "mouth to feed" etc etc...meh v_v. I know I should be sympathetic and such, but there's a lot more to this than I'm willing to go into. Suffice it to say, it isn't very fair to make me have to work, even though I fully agree I should. I might be looking for a job anyway just to be out of the house more often. Then Mother's Day, then my dad has surgery for his nose (apparently the intense ER-sending migraine headaches he's been getting MIGHT be caused by a spur that has been lodged in his nose since childhood???), then my sister's birthday, then my parents' anniversary, then my grandfather is coming up to visit, then my cousin's open house in June. Not to mention as I said Kat's open house and the furmeet. Whew...tomorrow though I'm relaxing and hanging out with a friend of mine who lives in the area. A furry too! I'm happy to have a fur in the area I can hang out with and don't have to travel too far to go see.
Sooooooo yeah. That pretty much sums up everything thus far. Some other issues but more personal are going on right now, but needless to say my head is swimming. Both good and bad. As I said though, I'm going to be around the house more often now so as such it's greatly possible that I'll be updating more often. Anyway, hope everyone is having a great week, and to those with exams I wish you luck! Those who are done, WHOO HOO! I'm off to sleep land now. Goodnight and sweet dreams all!
