Oh hey guys. Kinda important.
My official commissions have cleared and I'm only left with a pretty hefty backlog of drawings I owe people. One thing that's been really making me cringe inside is my still lacking skills in all things art. Mainly, this journal post is directed at the people I owe drawings to (some of who I'm certain aren't even aware at this point) and secondly at anyone who watches me and likes to see me churn out more drawings.
Spoiler, I'll try and avoid any sort of whining and it'll be a bit of a tl;dr. Luckily, odds are you, the reader, are not affected by this anyway. Feel free to close the tab. Not sarcasm/guilt tripping.
I've come to a point where my abilities are starting to stagnate and where my works lack a certain flare of progress that they used to have in the last year or so. I know what the issue is and I know how to overcome it. It's pretty much just practice, traditional drawing/painting practice, reading of art books, the works. It's a natural issue and hurdle someone of my calling has to jump over multiple times in the course of their endeavors. The issue is timing. As it stands, it's summer break. At the moment, I have a whole day of free time, and I'm mostly trying to do the drawings I owe or being pissed about them (not counting the time I put into traditional arts and me just being lazy.) By the time I'm done, it'll prolly be end of summer break, and then a new wave of obligations will of course delay my personal practice time once more. To cut the story short,
I'm asking for patience from the people I owe drawings to in my execution of their works while I devote most of my time to self improvement. I'm also informing anyone I don't owe anything to that I'll most prolly once again disappear without a sound for a half a month upload at best. I hope you all can understand the importance of this endeavor. Ultimately, the end result of your drawing will be all the better. I'm also posting this in hopes of not letting people feel left out, ignored or cheated. Odds are you have my MSN/AIM/STEAM or whatever, and I have no intention of disappearing from any of those any time soon.
That said, I will make progress with things I draw, and I'll try and wrap up the few projects I planned on finishing fully (as to not leave them sitting on the shelf half finished) but otherwise it'll be slow paced and done as a "taking a break" thing.
Thanks for understanding.
