nope not df fur its from a local fabric store. they have all kinda of colors i could check if theres any green atm if thats the right color.

I was trying to find this colour fur for the above dragon shown but had no joy at all, I found a bottle green colour in a short seal and that was it :( I cant find that link right now sadly. How much of the character needs that green?

Wel I think his first partial was made of DF and he dislikes that, and we did decide on natural looking furs so I bought that green, dark charcoal and black bear to use but meh, doesnt want them now.

He better be paying you extra for this :(

I have to agree with shirik :( he should be paying you extra for the money you've spent on the fur he's no longer happy with - yeah you can reuse the fur for future works, but the point is you're being messed around a bit by this guy >__< I'd help out if I could :C but fenris_child is doing an LA shop soon :D ask her? ;_;

If worst comes to worst you may consider dying a white fur that the customer likes the look and texture of. That gives you the best of both worlds, but makes the fur more delicate when it comes to washing. Washing it roughly (ie in a machine) would fade out the color. However I'm told it stands up to gentle hand washing about the same as airbrushing.

That meaning, the color holds up about the same as gently washing something that's been airbrushed. XD

Nooooooope, I wouldnt even want to airbrush that much of a suit (the green takes up around 60%) and to turn white fur THAT green would make fur the horribly greasy/sticky with paint :c

XD You may ask on the /fursuit LiveJournal community if you haven't yet. They're usually awesome at finding fur colors.

Have you tried Ebay? Only problem with Ebay being the nicer furs are quite expensive and it's hard to tell of the quality sometimes, but there are some up here that resemble that colour pretty closely.

I've seen a couple comments on other pages about funfur and its poor quality. What about its quality is poor? (I've never seen it let alone touch it, I'm just curious as to its quality). Does it shed really badly? I purchased a white from JoAnn fabrics (BAD decision!) and the fur was just coming out right and left with the slightest touch.

then what you have there is basically funfur, it comes in a decent range of colours but its sparse with a horribly stretchy and rough backing. You can literally pull all of the fur out from the backing it sheds so much. And it feels awfully plastic-y too :(

Not to mention the fur is usually rough to the touch and very very thin. You can usually see the backing between the fur fibers.

honestly, people need to stop being so picky XD there's only so many furs of a single colour type, especially greens and blues, montery mills do 'custom' batches of their fox fur, but i think thats a 15 yard minimum order

Meh it is pretty common but he expressed his dislike for DF fur and I said well lets keep it to natural looking furs then :'D I had quite a few naturals I thought I could use but they were all rejected

I have heard you can take the shine out of fur with rubbing alcohol, could be worth a shot. I think it's because it crazes the plastic, but don't quote me on that.

Im afraid NFT is a no go in my customer didnt like NA-GG (green grinch from imstuffedfur) then he wont like NFT, the green takes up 60% of the bodysuit as well so NFT is probably not for the best
The current green was purchased from a UKfur that found it down in London (Local find) :)

Oh gosh, you can pretty much find anything down there I reckon, but sadly im in the UK and rather far away from LA ;o; its a shame the fashion district would be amazing to browse through

I had a look but all that is mainly DF furs, and the Mongolian fur isnt right for the job~

i'm curious to know, are the DF furs just bad quality furs, or do they not want that texture? There just seems to be limited options in the way of fur colors.

DF are pretty nice in quality but its the texture that they do not want. and your damn right there, theres not a rainbow of colours out there unfortunately

I've never made a fursuit, but I just recently bought a head and am in the process of making a bodysuit, and attempting another fursuit myself, and I've literally spent a solid 15 hours or so searching for fur in the right color to no avail, so I have to settle for something that's good quality (that I know won't fall apart easily) and just in a different shade. Sounds like if you can't find the right fur they're going to have to make a compromise of some sort. :/

Mendels' "frosty shag" in kiwi is close, but unfortunately it is frosted...it has a decent amount of white guard hairs. But it's a really great fur, good quality, not silky but not icky scratchy either - very natural. The main undercoat is a lovely vibrant green. It's the only non-DF, non-monster/funfur I've seen in that shade.

That current fur is gorgeous!! They are nuts for not wanting it ;)

You cant just find a green thats close and the airbrush to bring it to the right color? it wouldnt take as much pigment as going from white to green.
