How has it died. Any clue like harddrive failure?

Well, it's been dying for a while. Geek squad said the battery is gone, fan is off-kkilter or soemthing, and motherboard was failing.

the place where the charger plugs in wont light up anymore and there is nothing going into the laptop. I think the charger still works cuz I can still hear the high pitch buzz from electricity going through it.

Hmmm odd. And it doesn't start up at all? Is that due to the charger/battery being wonky or does it start, but just not boot up all the when the power button is pushed.
Or does the laptop shut off randomly because of the fan and possible overheating from that?

It used to shut off randomly. but now i cant even get it on. there is no power to the laptop and the battery holds no charge. its been dead for a while now.
