*THIS IS FROM MY EXPERIENCE: Im sure there are lots of exceptions; as there are exceptions to everything*
I need these just as much as you. I am rapidly losing faith in our community consisting of sexual deviants who's only prerogative is to fuck anything that moves. It's atrocious & makes me question my place in the fandom. However, I will say, furries are some of the single nicest people you will ever find, yet most of those even worth knowing have no sexuality at all, or are very nonsexual.
Perhaps it is the fact I only meet furries online, I have personal friends who are furries, but they too are slutty. Yet, I feel somehow more at home with furries, even when I am frustrated with our fandom. I have heard HORRIBLE stories from victims of sexual abuse in furry dens with 3-8 furries living in one place. It sickens me. Show me too that our fandom is capable of more than what is shown.
We have INCREDIBLE amounts of creativity, skill & passion in our fandom, yet we waste it. We fall prey to our own stereotypes. There are times unfortunately that I feel ashamed to say I am a furry. Just the same with being an American and being Human. Perhaps I just don't fit in here. Nothing is right, our entire world is broken, including our fandom, and we choose to ignore it. Lot's more I could say, but my emotions are muddled.
From practically every furry I have met they all say that the fandom has helped them grow & find themselves. I cannot express how true that as, even with the 3 or 4 large pitfalls of the fandom, I still found my identity here. I found a true place to be myself & an outlet for my creativity. Perhaps without the fandom I would be much more lost than I am currently.
Or much less. Either way, I guess thanks?
