Complete Details About The ArtPrize Fursuit Meet

ArtPrize: September 24- October 12, 2014
This meet will happen rain or shine.
Who: Everybody!
What: Fursuiting and Art Appreciation
Where: ArtPrize in Grand Rapids, MI
Meet at Ah-Nab-Awen Park in front of the Gerald R. Ford Presidential Museum (they have free parking.) Map
When: Saturday, Sept. 22nd, at 11 am. This will give us enough time to suit up, wait for any stragglers, and maybe get a group photo in before ArtPrize officially opens for the day at noon.
Why: Because ArtPrize is awesome, and we'd make it even more awesome.
Tentative Schedule:
Saturday
11 am: Meet at Ah-Nab-Awen Park.
12 pm- 6 pm: Fursuiting (weather permitting) and wandering around ArtPrize.
6 pm- 9 pm: Dinner, hotel check-in, relaxing. (Feel free to eat wherever, though if you do eat downtown the restaurants will be busy, hence why I figured in 3 hours for wait/travel time.)
9 pm- Drunk o'clock: Invade Rumors Night Club, party at hotel. (Rumors is having a foam party on this day, so wear your suit if you're feeling REALLY brave. Cover is about $5, will double check this.)
Sunday
(These events are optional.)
Late morning: Brunch somewhere.
Rest of day: Check out more of ArtPrize and see pieces we might not have gotten to see on Saturday. Rain date for fursuits.
****HOTEL INFO***
I've currently booked 3 rooms at the J.W. Marriott downtown for Saturday night. Should more than 15 people wish to stay there, I'll add more rooms. Should we need 10 rooms or more(!), I might move to a different hotel depending on whether or not we are able to have a group rate for only one night. Let me know by Sept. 15th if you want crash space at the hotel.
4 people per room = approx. $63 per person
5 people per room = approx. $50 per person
If you'd like to reserve a spot at the hotel, send me a note (here or on Facebook if you know my name) and I'll be sure to add you to the list.
