leon was raised in an orphanage run by a bunch of crazy cat nuns. Their religion was i guess something similar to some kind of catholic/wiccan hybrid. he didn't really have a sad childhood, just a lonely one. for reasons he wouldn't understand until much later in his life, he wasn't up or adoption like the other orphans, so while they would come and go, he had more of a relationship with the sisters than they would, though not really a parental one. still, they were supportive, and he always knew they were there for him.

he still visits them once in a while and helps with some chores and gets into arguments about their kooky religion. goddamn crazy cats. >:|
