Wow what a dumb journal title UwU me and my girlfriend  keliran just got a new apartment together and we have a lot of thoughts about trying our hand at fursuiting. She is a pretty pro sewer and crafty wench, and I am decent at sculpting, airbrushing, and similar things. We really want to try our hand at making a few resin casts and furring them. They would be test runs, probably simple animals like a fox or a dog. We would also sell them for cheap if they looked halfway decent, since they would be our test runs.

My girlfriend was also thinking seriously about making custom plushes with resin faces for people of their fursonas and such.

So my question is for all the fursuiters and fursuit makers who might follow me! What was the most challenging thing about starting to make fursuits? And what do you look for in your fursuits? (obviously quality, but specifics please!)

This has been a pipe dream of mine for a very long while, I am excited to maybe be able to slowly begin learning in earnest!
