Why does it matter if you're 'popular' or not anyway?

*shrugs* I guess it's that little part of me that was the outcast in grade school, rejected from every social group and desperate to feel like I 'belong' to something.

Don't stress. Just do your own thing. That's the best thing you could possibly do.

Sometimes later, you find out that people admired you so much for being yourself that you find that you were "popular" and didn't even know it.

Bah! It's more fun to be outside the popular crowd. Here, we actually care about each other. =3

I've known the name "Turkituck" and been able to recognize your work for over seven years. I don't know exactly how long, because your earliest remaining upload on VCL is from 2001 after you had to delete everything, so.. whenever you joined VCL, that's probably when I started following your art.

I'm not big name or popular, but the point I'm trying to make is.. out of 575 people, I'm just one person. Who knows what the other 574's stories are, right? Maybe you're more popular than you realize, and I think you fit into this crowd just fine. :3

*blinkblink* Good lord, you've been watching my stuff since back then?? *does some quick math* I started posting on the VCL around 1998 or thereabouts, so it's been 10 years since I first put my stuff online.

Thank you for that kick into perspective, Mab. I sometimes forget that a large number of people have found my stuff worth watching. The idea that I have fans always amazes me.
