I really cant get over this.

So after school today, when ive found my moped scooter in the parkin lot, I saw it got damaged. Its seat was ripped out, which resulted the lost of my ipod in the trunk. This really got me furious, unfortunately I couldnt talk to the head of the security department, or student service because work time was over. I swear I will deal with someone about this tomorrow early morning, and pretty sure they wont like it.
The main thing that got me mad is that, when people know my story, they seem to blame my carelessness, rather than to blame the crime, or the one who damaged my scooter.
"It is because you left your ipod in the trunk that caused the thief to do it"
and then
"You cant do anything about it...let it go"
Ok so the fact that I am being careless is more wrong than stealing? And it is ok to let go of this because thats the way it is?
Am I missing something? I dont think moral exist anymore, or maybe moral is twisted to a different way now. Moreover, trunk is made to contain stuffs, gosh. and the securities in the parkin lot are hired, to fuckin protect people's vehicle. And now my scooter is damaged, fail.
But I still learned my part from this. I was also wrong somehow. I will never leave valuable stuff in the trunk again...This was the first time I did so, and is also my last time.
End of rant, if you have a similar experience, please do share.

The victim that was raped would usually be the target of people saying how she deserved it because she was a prostitute, or because she dressed too slutty, or because she was stupid enough to walk through a dark alley way.
Same thing as saying how you were inviting trouble by putting it in your trunk.
If the security guy tells you this, reply: So, who told the person that stole it that stealing is wrong and they shouldn't do it? That is just as common a problem as no one telling me not to leave my things there. If everyone stopped stealing, then everyone would also start leaving their things in their trunk.
Do not let them place the blame on you, as you are the victim.
Now, in the same sentence.. Don't be a total asshole or bitch to the person that could be trying to help you. Don't come in screaming at the head of the security department, or student service, because the more of a jerk you are, the less likely they will help you out.
Hope this is of some help to you ^^
I'll definitely take in mind what you said, as it is very logical. When im angry I easily lose my words, and maybe I dont know whats right or wrong...so your comment does help alot! Thank you~I'll be cool when talkin to the service people
Either way, I suppose people say that it's your fault is because we can't really do anything about robbers, I mean..we try to stop them if we can but it's usually out of our own control, so we try and do the things we can prepare ourselves by locking and stuff.
I know it's unfair that they blame you, in reality of course the robber's to blame, but a robber's a bad person already, people also expect others to sufficiently take care of their own personal belongings. You didn't exactly leave your stuff out in the open for them to rob, but then again a moped always had a weaker security than say..a car. It's unfortunate that the damage and the stealing happened but the chances of catching the person is so low at this point. I'd just say in the end, just learn from this experience and we'll all have to be more prepared for robbers (and guards who don't do their jobs ^^; lol)
Well, Im trying my best to get some fairness back. I dont expect to see my ipod back, but I do expect to know those securities have to take some punishment.. and a public warning email to the students..Ive talked to the head guy of those securities and emailed the head department of property, wish me luck Akhera bro :U
I had a mail package stolen from me last year, and I was so angry about it. I thought about it all the time. I wanted to punch the person if I ever found them. It was funny, finally, after 6 months I felt "I'm never going to see it again," so I went outside and burned the claims forms for missing packages, I felt it's ok, it's over. That same night, my friend called me and said he caught the guy trying to sell it to someone. I was so happy and angry and dasihgihgihrgihlerigerlkgreglg just a mix of emotions. Har.
FOR SAYING.
ANOTHER.LEGIT.POINT. *gives cookie*
well im glad you got the package back. Thats pretty...magical actually XD i mean, after half a year? wow. I don't know if this is because of patience or luck ahahah but it's still great that you got the package. I hope to get the same experience...
:| Because when they broke into your scooter and saw there was no I-Pod inside it, they would have fixed all the damage before running off to find someone else's I-Pod to steal? Some people are just dumb, and some people just like to wreck shit. Nobody in my neighborhood parks on the street, because some jerk likes to drive past and break out windows with a baseball bat. My neighbor's car was UNLOCKED and they STILL broke out all his windows and stole his stereo.
all these things that happen really make me think that it is IMPOSSIBLE to deal with those dumbasses.
it's stupid to place any amount of blame on you, It's not like you left it on the seat or on a desk, you stored it away in a "safe" place.
i'm sorry it happened to you hun, both for the the ipod and for the damage that was done. *hugs* anything i can do to make you feel better, let me know
It was a lesson for me...no where is safe ashgsfj, one careless moment and poof, nice day turn to bad day.
Thank you for sharing ;__; reading all these comments make me feel better already ~
