Twitter is easier to use, plus you just have to write a short status message and it can be done by many ways (PC, phone, game console...), so I think it'll still be used for some good time. I might be wrong, though
It's just a blog with more sharing functionality. It's ok to use, if you've developed ways of generating income through blogging, tend to learn things fastest by way of reputable blogs, or don't value your time. Other then that, I figure a guy like you would get more out of putting that time spent blogging into getting some rest, drawing, or doing other things that either improve yourself, or situation in life.
If you're going to get into blogging, why not share stuff with art blog communities that cater to the genre's that interest you to promote your work through them from time to time. You get to broaden your audience through passive blogging at a point you're familiar with and they get more content for their own visitors to help maintain the ad revenue. It's pretty much a win/win for everyone.
But if you still wanna try it, go ahead.
