Digimon vs Pokemon

I decided to make this cause I wanna try and get a little friendly debate going and to get peoples oppinions.
I personally think boths franchises are great but it has been going through my head lately about which is actually better, well this is my two cent on the subject and feel free to tell me what you think.
Ok first lets break this down into the animes then the games. For the anime they both started out really well and had decent stoylines, however pokemon soon became too repetative. How? Well in practically every episode team rocket showed up, captured Pikachu, said their catchphrase, then lost flying away in the air yelling "were blasting off again", and this really was what happened in every episode one way or another. This also carried on through like 12 seasons. Also the series had a very basic stoyline that at first flowed like a normal anime but then soon became there is a theme for a few episodes but the majority of those eps didnt even further the story apart from a few random evolutions. Also the characters enjoyed pointing out the obvious a little too much, I mean come on how often was it that a pokemon was jumping up and down, or trying to rush them ahead and one character yells out "I think it wants us to follow it", all the time Im yelling in my head "no s**t sherlock". Yes I know its for the audience benefit but seriously and the latest series "POKEMON BLACK AND WHITE" the anime, its a copy of the first series hands down, reasons; first season had misty hiding the fact shes a gym leader and in this new series if you played the game will know iris is one of the two possible 8th gym leaders depending on the version you got. Secondly Ash beat Brok then he joined Ash the same thing happened in the new series with the first gym leader he fought.I wont do any more or I will be here forever. Lastly before we go to digimon lets mention the movies, I loved the majority of them I have got to admit they were amazing and over an hour long for each of them, this made the anime a bit more bearable cause I got to a point then only watched the movies.
Ok now onto digimon well the show gave quite a bit of variety, each series had about three archs of storyline in it with no episodes that didnt further the story, and first two seasons one long storyline, third totaly new concept and was one of the two darker seasons, I mean in that season they actually died first second and forth back to being eggs. The forth season took the thirds twist of the humans becoming the digimon and just sank it by making that all that happened granted it was new but was over done. The fifth season went dark again by digimon dieing again which is more drama than pokemon ever gave us. I loved the fact in this series the monsters talked and destroyed the need for "I think it wants us to follow it". There was very few repetative element, but one that did annoy me the most was that there was two characters they hyped up the most examples, season 1 Matt and Tai the only two to go mega, season 2 Davis and Ken the only dna digivolution that digivolved, season 5 Marcus and Thomas their burst modes werent just a colour change. Though season 3 and 5 were the best for this sort of thing only making one element for those characters a bit better. Now the movies let digimon down a little cause the average was only about 50 mins oh and for those who are going to argue that digimon the movie was longer than that, well it was actually three mini movies which they all were except the 8th "DIGIMON X-EVOLUTION" it was 3d all new characters an element from the fifth series death it was the best.
So through just the anime alone Digimon wins cause of more hours of enjoyable content.
Now onto the games, back to pokemon here I wont lie I got a lot of the games, but for the hand held consoles and the main ones like red, blue and yellow, all the games like that too simular apart from mystery dungeon and pokemon ranger. The main games made it so you had to do the gyms to do the storyline you couldnt just do contests when they came up or just went exploring. However pokemon had one game that has saved it from being boring, and that was the trading card game, which is still standing strong and requires thinking up complex stratigies.
Last section the digimon games. These had had a good run with digimon world and rumble arena. sadly cause there arnt as many games this does drop but the storylines in the games and even the original keychain games that started it all has help it to rise again in my likes.
Ok now all thats done I will say who I though won and as I said at the top please feel free to coment and bring your own oppinions to light, just dont be a douche about it. So for me Digimon is the better franchise it had a better anime series more better story driven games abd one epic movie, I still like Pokemon and Im not saying its bad but when its up against Digimon, Pokemon has no chance.
Well thanks for reading and making it to the end and I hope you found this enlightening.

Interesting fact, the pokemon manga, Pokemon Adventure, which is much more darker and violent, was originally how both the main games and anime were suppose to be like. If that would have happened, the pokemon wouldv'e been ALOT better.
There's another pokemon manga that's also dark; it's called Pokemon Reburst, and it's basicly a pokemon version of digimon series 4, with the exception being that trainers still use their pokemon to battle.
Also, there is another digimon series you didn't see; it's called Digimon Xros Wars and it has three seasons. The first 2 seasons are dark, while its third season is a little dark, and is mostly filler. But you should still watch, because the heroes from the previous digimon appear in it.
