… you read the latest Star Wars novel (Mercy Kill, by Aaron Allston) and you can’t help but find serious overtones of a gay relationship between the Thakwaash (anthro horse) and the Gamorrean (anthro pig) characters.
Allston being Allston, I’m pretty sure he added the ambiguity on purpose.

I noticed similar overtones in most Ursula LeGuin's work that includes male characters, and in Samuel Delany's Nova. It's all pure sci-fi, but still... Literary gaydar I guess. Stuff happens between the lines.
