It might be because I made this capture, and I suck at working with video. One of my major problems is getting the sound not to lag behind the voices or something. I have no idea why it happens, and I can't seem to fix it, even by messing with the delay. My guess is my computer just doesn't play it accurately each time, so it's hard for me to tell when I've got the nail on the head.

I didn't bother editing this one, I just immediately posted the capture. It usually works out better if I don't convert it or mess with it. XD

I have had a chance to see it! As I said in Malus's post, I like the art style. They didn't just set the render software to low quality and go for it, they seem to have actually matched the scenery and rendering style to the more simplistic models and textures.

The video gets the point across.

I saw an ad on TV today, they are showing the original HTTYD movie on free to air TV for the first time in Australia. Took them long enough.

I know, they understood the weaknesses of the medium and did the best they could with it. Like those leather coats! They're far from being underdetailed. :)

Also nice to see they redid the music a bit and didn't just use cut up bits of movie soundtrack in it.

Yeah, i think that's cool too. Judging from the 2-minute clip, I thought the music was going to be overbearingly dorky, but in practice it's actually really quite nice, rehashing Powell's themes without just replaying hunks of the soundtrack.
