Common sense vs Policy

Just want to get a discussion started.
At your place of work, do you have a tendency to get irked when something relatively necessary gets removed due to cost cutting?
Or perhaps something was implemented unfairly without proper justification?
Maybe something just doesn't make sense in the grand scheme of your establishment?
I just need to vent, and I'd like to hear your opinions.

So guess what? Stuff started going missing. That went on for a few months and then they decided to just keep the dispensary locked. So now, if we need something, a teacher (or the receptionist) has to walk allll the way to the back to the dispensary, unlock the door, wait for us to get what we need or mix up the color we need, lock it back, etc.
Which is made even more tedious and time consuming when you have a color - because they have to come back, unlock the door, you get the color book, you go do a client consultation, then you have to hunt down a teacher, get them to unlock the door again, make sure the color is IN STOCK (it usually isn't), and you better hope it is in stock, because then you'll have to do the whole process all over again until there is a color.
A you better hope you have enough product - because if that hair is processing, you have precious little time to hunt down a teacher to go unlock the door again.
Huh, I ranted a little more than I thought I would!
They essentially have eliminated bussers, having that fall mostly on the servers and hosts.
But when we need them on the weekends, and the servers are already understaffed, and the only 2 hosts are also taking care of ToGo orders, running food, bussing tables, AND taking wait names... it's ludicrous.
corporate is the epitome of evil.
i am one of the direct victims (thrice) of "cost-cutting" — i was forced to give up my job because They were (and still are) simply adamant that one 3-4 person duty, and another 2-person duty, may be successfully performed by 1-2 persons, and 1 person respectively.
and, as usual, their "cost-cutting" seems super-ineffective: because, now, i'm not spending anymore of my money at that establishment.. ..in addition to whatever money i was helping them earn.
