Shark week is here! That's right, an entire week for sharks (and shark characters). Shark Week's all but a national holiday at this point, and should be acknowledged as such.

Also, some updates that went live recently:
* Duplicates- Fixes to prevent duplicate comments (and coming soon to notes & submissions)
* Trouble Tickets - Revised tweaks to the trouble ticket system to help better categorize tickets and priorities. This will also make adding specialized, focused admins much easier for us.
* SFW - The ability to toggle SFW mode on/off.

"Oh FUCK YES."
No comment on where he's buried
I bought this yesterday

It will sure scare the sh*t out of mum when she finds it in her bedroom on the boat this weekend.

Although, if you know the Jaws thing, it's actually a 'duuuuun. Duuun duuun.'

Take it from me - taxonomy is a fluid and often confusing thing to keep track of. Ichthyologists (and all other scientists, for that matter) are always moving things around and re-naming them, as new evidence supporting these classifications is discovered. :3
Luckily, taxonomic classification is becoming more precise with DNA sampling, rather than it being based upon physical observation.
We... We don't really talk about the rest.
*chomp*
Is that shark smirking?

Dude... you know very well it was the amount of photos of similar content that got you yelled at. So quit whining about it.
Look at
All do the same stuff I did, and all have not been targeted for it.
Please have some restraint before complaining about the people on this site ; and above all, don't drag other artists into... whatever problem it is you're having anyway.
XD
* has had one waiting for over a month, classy*
That function has actually been there for quite some time only you had to type "sfw." before furaffinity in the address field, they just added the button recently.
It should be up top right, next to your inbox.
And I was soooo hoping for it
Which by the way needs to be greatly adjusted. now people holding auctions, raffles or even replying to comments are pretty well screwed with that whole timer basis.
You need to make it so accounts older than 3 months or so are NOT affected by your spam filter.

I'm making a valid point here, this is really messing with my flow and FA experience. Some people DO reply to comments they get (good manners to thank those who support you) and now this flood thing enabled is making that difficult.
SHARK WEEK YESSSSSSSS <3<3 The best week in the history of man-kind. (and time to clean favs now)
Also yeah with adiago - you need to remove the flood filter on older accounts imo - it's a pain in the ass as an artist who likes to respond to all comments i recieve. To do so then have to wait to respond if i respond to too many is an irritation.
Shortly after I already went through 70+ pages of favourites manually.

in form of a bucket of water :l
oh lookie~ and here i though they were going to ruin it again with the fat bunny week >3>
Now we just need to make it stay at the site you came to, so you don't have to go all the way back again and again, each time you've nuked something 8cc
= manage favourites c:
" * Favorites Nuke - We've added a new button to nuke dead favorites to aid with favorites gallery cleanup (it's on the Favs Management page!). It may take a few tries to run depending on your favs size."
Bolding is mine - notice it says it may take a few tries, which means it's supposed to go through your favs list and remove all dead links. 'remove' only does one at a time.
No button. Kthxbai.
Oh man, time to go to seaworld! ...or something XD
...except it'd probably be better if dead favorites just got removed automatically but oh well one step at a time
Wasn't shark week like 3 or 4 months ago though? At least that's what it feels like, and a couple of my friends also said it hasn't been a year since the last one. :T
And nope, Shark Week started Sunday (technically).
Even when the button becomes available, I won't be using it right away. I'm going to read other people's feedback on it for a few weeks first. I'd hate to find out that it deletes more than it should.
HE ONLY LIKES DOGS.
YOU MUST KNOW THIS.
IT IS IMPORTANT.
Because we all know how well that goes
It's to be assumed the site issues were because of the things they were changing/adding s: it seems to not be as bad now.. but yeah, it still is kinda slow. I hope it gets fixed soon
and you know, the things they added actually start working..
I dont see it anywhere, and it seems like I'm not the only one
it seems to not be showing up for a lot of people
dammit Two hundred Thlusand dollars down the sea.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!
Huzzah!
ALSO COOL BANNER I do loves me some sharks |3
last couple years i tried to watch them and ended up just annoyed cause it seemed like the same kind of anti-shark stuff shark week generally was supposed to ward off
allwell
supporting a California shark research foundation.... yes, shameless plugging, but it's for a good cause :)
:U
>TALKS ABOUT WOLVES.
GET OUT.
Hey, just sayin', you can't really compare the two
urgh
...ill skip it as usual
I've swum among sharks in the Caribbean, hundreds of times and they have never bothered us. They are more curious about us than anything and will usually dart off if they see us.
>> I do not enjoy having to right click and open story submissions one by one to see that I'm not going to be reading some creepy fetish porn because there wasn't even an accurate thumbnail to begin with and I can't see any info.
Sharks are cool...
Odd that they're mostly people with dog avatars(?).
Ah well, guess I'll take comfort in the fact that the Chinese like to eat dog meat just as much as shark fin soup!
o/
(High five to fellow shark lovers?)
Also I'm not seeing any global nuke button on the faves management page.
Somebody told me that the admins were looking into this as a possibility when I first joined some years ago but I haven't actually seen any official journals/notices about this so I wondered if there was any truth to it at all.
I just think having folders would make it easier for people to manage their submissions/galleries a little better, so I was wondering if implementing a folder system has any kind of priority on the list of site updates - or if it's even being considered at all?
Shaaaaaarks! Fx
If so, that filter should be applicable to new accounts for a few weeks. Or until there's submissions. There is definite lag. I do support its intended purpose of thwarting spammers, though...I had two. A pants one, and a "lonely" one.
Plus the logout and SFW buttons do NOT show (for Android phone...all I have) unless I send a note or post a comment.
I'm not kvetching, because I realize it's a free-to-use site run on donations. But just pointing out tweaks are needed. Thank you! :)
*copies text, presses "post" and hopes it works*
You may think wolves are the "cooler" animal, but for a science based network it makes sense to go with a little more mystery and scientific advancement in your programming. Us biologists and ecologists can't let the astrophysicists steal the spotlight all the time.
On top of what Metonymy said, sharks are considered by the general population to be bad, killers, and mean everyone and everything harm. Well I have news for you, that's called huge misunderstanding, are wolves misunderstood? If so, please explain how. As I stated above to someone else, wolves aren't hunted down like fuck by humans, sharks are often killed for their fins, sharks have a complicated life cycle, sharks are hunted down when one of them attacks a human swimming at a beach - because it thought said human was something else. Hey, well excuuuuse me, humans aren't aquatic creatures to begin with, so aren't we invading Their territory by swimming at a beach?
Wolves are already a very nicely treated species, people already respect them, they're already an icon in many cultures, why should they need a fucking week dedicated to them?
Your work is much appreciated by me! ^.=.^ :D

I'm glad the lag is fixed though.

Plus, I do watch an awful lot of people who do all the same kind of work. And I also scan for adoptables... that I cannot see the titles to. >>
